Please someone, educate me!

I’ve had problems with a couple myself this year-Minnesota4B. We had a lengthy winter with lots of snow cover and quite a bit of vole damage where they have camped out under my shrubs and destroyed a few of my plants. I’m blaming them….

if you cut back hard last fall.. then i wouldnt expect significant growth TO BE SEEN.. until this fall..

you are upstate NY??? does your ground freeze ... if so.. or close.. then you are barely past your last frost date ..... so how much growth should you expect .. especially from the root mass.. if you cut them that far down ..

i chopped some spirea out of the ground in august.. and dragged them across the acres. with my garden tractor .... threw them into a new hole in august.. watered them once.. and they lived.... imo.. they are indestructible ... whats your secret.. lol
