We would like to add two 24"x48" windows to the existing wall you see in this picture. The wall is a southern facing wall in Maryland. The room that the windows are going into was an addition added after the construction of the house that sits on an uninsulated concrete pad. As you can imagine, the floor is cold in winter and the construction is not good so it is also drafty.

The rest of the windows in the house are single pane wood windows we will eventually replace and we will probably pick windows in the future that will match the ones we are installing now in this room.

We were going to have a contractor that is doing work around the house add the two windows and he was going to pick them up from Home Depot. After reading this forum I think I am better off having a dedicated window contractor that can provide several choices in manufacturers. Would this job be too small for a dedicated window guy?

We were thinking of doing a slider or fixed windows since the room has 2 other windows that already open. Any other things to think about taking into consideration the specifics of this application (southern facing)?
