I think none of the above. It is going look all choped up. Did you already buy tiles? Porcelanosa has bigger formats maybe like 48 x48 and bigger. They have nice options but you would need a good fabricator for that.

What are the measurements for A, B, and C?

Seems high, is the bottom of your hood mounted the recommended height above the cooking surface?

To J Sk's question, I already have the tiles purchased, and while those are strikingly beautiful options they fall outside my budget. I have to work with this format.

Marylut, A and C are the same size at 33.5" approximately, and the hood is at 31.5" from the stove.

Another option is to tile up to the top of the cabinets behind the cooktop, and do a short piece (2”-5”h, but no higher than bottom of electrical outlet covers) under each cabinet.

Thanks marylut! I think I'll do that. For the range hood I just checked the installation height and it is a bit too high (25"- 30"), we'll fix that when we reinstall it.

Make sure you have a lot of spare tiles. The holes for the outlets can be cut out by a good tile person, but you will probably waste a few tiles before getting the perfect hole.

Wrong tile for that application. But, if you choose to use it, the tile should be installed before the cabinetry, and cover the whole wall.

DeWayne, why would it be the wrong tile? I see most people suggest complete slabs, but is there a technical reason why it's the wrong tile?

What was the reason for huge format tiles in that small space ?The tile is too lage for the space either get a whole slab or smaller tiles you will have huge waste with you are planning.

The reason for the large tiles was that it was significantly cheaper than a slab, and we didn't like the look of smaller tiles at all.

Is the hood 31.5" above the actual cooking surface or above the control panel part of the range? Most likely it should be no more than 30" above the cooking surface (i.e., where the "burners" are), not the control panel - check the specs for the correct placement of the hood (most are 30", but some, especially if they're wider than the cooking surface, can be 36" above).

If possible, use same material as counter top

Buehl, it is a bit too high yes, I checked the manufacturer's installation manual and we're a little bit too high, it'll be taken down and when we reinstall it it'll be put a little lower!
