Anybody?

I planted it this Spring so it’s still too early for me to comment. Hopefully someone who’s had it in their garden longer will chime in.

I have not met a variegated version of any plant that is as vigororous as its monochrome version.

i dont think i have this iteration of variegated autum joy but iit looks like it is green with just an edge of white. Is that correct?

it may well be more vigorous than the white leaves with green markings, which i do think have a tendency to fade away or sit and sulk until they are put out of their misery in the compost pile.

The Frosted Fire has a creamy verging on yellow variegation. The one I have now with white variegation is Pink Chablis, which I don't even think is available anymore. I started with three beautiful large clumps and they declined over time, have only a small remnant of one plant left. Why I keep it I don't know, maybe because I keep hoping it will bounce back with vigor one of these years -- it likely won't... Too bad, too, because that one really is beautiful.

The earlier variagated ones from maybe 15 years ago died out on me too. I have ones that a better gardener than me recommended and they have more green. Darned if I can remember their name. However they have never bulked up like A Joy, A Fire or Matrona. The dark purple don't excel here either. They get very lanky. and splay even if I thin the stalks and tips. They might all do better in leaner soil.
