IMO wait until all the work is done then choose color pretty much the same as in the interior .The proch looks dark so what is the plan for that? Waht was the plan for the huge gable above the porch with no reason to be there unless there i living space there and then you need windows.

Yes I would love to wait until work is done. Its tough because we are completing work ourselves and doing it in stages. Wanted to get porch painted and set back up as we have renovated much of that already. House is originally dark brown painted cedar shake. We are going to repaint that and are adding new cedar shake on top and sides as we added dormer.

We are adding two windows. Recently renovated that second floor from a tiny flat roof shed dormer to a large gable to balance width of the home and for better ceilings on second floor.

Put in those upper windows, and get the shakes on, and then decide on paint. If white is what you want, then, I would look at white colors. I wouldnt paint anything on the exterior, until you have the exterior work done. Moving ladders and scaffolding etc can all damage new paint, and you would just end up doing it all over again. I know you are anxious to get it done, but, do it right, and do it once, is a better option.
