Slowly gaining daylily blooms

3 days of rain had partially moved out yesterday but this coming week we have predictions of more coming. I was able to get a couple of pics yesterday of blooms.

CLOWN PARADE - It is overwhelmed by the yarrow so got to get the yarrow under control. I had to tie the yarrow back with string.

MAUI SUNRISE - this totally surprised me as to the color. I've never seen it so orange toned. Debra sent some fans back to me last year which I deeply appreciate. In NY it was typically more in red tones. Climate? Soil? I'll see how the rest of the buds open.

We are scheduled to have a shed pad done tomorrow by a local company and then the shed will arrive in 2 weeks. We will finally be able to empty a lot of stuff from the garage which is becoming a "catch-all". Hopefully the rain holds off tomorrow. I'm also in the planning process of enlarging the front bed. My husband suggested it given how much I have planted into that small space. LOL.

Have a great Sunday. I plan to enjoy being out in the sunshine.

What a pretty post! Maui Sunshine is very lovely no matter where it blooms, obviously. You companion plant just adds to it also. It may be a climate issue that makes the color different . Clown Parade is always a favorite. I am happy to see the blooms increasing for you, and your husband must give really good advice...ie expand the bed.

Clown Parade is looking grand! Maui Sunrise only v3ry rarely shows the red tones here. Most blooms are a glorious, deep orange. It was one of only three daylilies in my front garden that had tall scapes this year. I'm so happy you shared it with me several years ago.

Many colors are definitely looking different this year. This week, after cool cloudy weather, and perhaps a hangover from earlier heat.

Maui Sunshine is really pretty, I like either color. I was out today and saw several colors that were off. Mean Green had a flower that looked like ;a ditch lily. The flower is on the same scape as others that have bloomed normal, but how it could go from large, kinda coral flowers to ditch lily orange, I don't understand. Many colors were much deeper than they have been, and it is warmer today.

Great color on your blooms today! Making a bed bigger used to be fun ; ) Just work to this aging body now. What will you be adding to the bigger bed?? Got a list??

Funny about enlarging the flower bed! I have lost count on how many times I have done that!! Clown Parade looks good. I think I would prefer the darker shades of Maui Sunrise but perhaps they will be darker later-it is still pretty. By the way, I sent you a Houzz message. :)
