large wall decor

Hello and a huge thank you on advance!
I’ve been in this home for 9 months and I need help with this wall. The current art there is my own and just a placeholder until I know what I want to do. The tv above the fireplace is a Samsung frame tv so it can be changed to anything. The placement of this is a nonnegotiable unfortunately. The wall obviously crosses both the living and dining rooms and is tall. Any thoughts as to what I can do? A large piece of art, but then what in the dining room?

We replaced the old white linoleum with the current tile you see in the dining room.
There will be dining chairs and a rug under the dining table - still deciding on rug color.

The tile around the fireplace will likely change to similar of what’s in the dining room.

I want a bigger plant to the right of the fireplace. And of course move all the clutter from there.

I’m open to any and all suggestions!

Nice artwork!

First things first - lower the tv about 3 or 4 inches. The tile around the fireplace needs updating and the mantel surround can be beefed up.

Is the dog bed staying?

Can you move the dining table further away from the wall to put a small buffet on the wall. If so, you'd put artwork above it and then add a vertical piece of artwork closer to the fireplace.

@shirlpp thank you! I can moving the dining table out a bit, will need to look for a thinner buffet table here

I agree with most everything already said. Art is really interesting & eye catching - are you the artist? I especially like the sunset, 2nd down on right & the wave bottom left. So, TV - agree should be lowered - that was my first reaction as the top right corner is too jammed in . Of course remove mantel items as you mention. Also agree a buffet type piece would be really good behind table. Your gallery style art display might be perfect over that piece. A bit of bare wall / separation is not a bad thing! Are the bar stools staying with it or do they belong to what looks like a bar height counter in lower left of pic. Last note & very important - of course the dog bed is staying!! Where else would it go? And, it looks like a nice bed too. 😊

How much space do you have for a buffet? What do you think the dimensions would be for it?
