Landscaping- trees?

Hi! We live in zone 8/9 in the south and have settled into our new house. The previous owners have some nice hedge and boxwoods so today I added limelight hydrangeas in the front. I think they might be better behind boxwoods but that has been there a year so I figured I’d leave that. I want some blooms and love how limelight goes from white-green to pink over fall and winter. They do have a Japanese maple on one end but no other trees. I brought a gingko that is sentimental but needs to be rehabbed and placed in the flattish front yard. I think we need two more trees. There are residual crepe myrtles under the two small window sections left and right sides of house. But they’re so small it might take another couple years to even reach five feet. Should i go ahead and plant trees in those two spots? I feel like we need trees or height. Otherwise i want front yard for play so really looking at ideas for the beds. Thank you!!
The little red brick home with white trim has grown on me a bit. I had wanted to paint this a cream color but waiting to see what to do.
