Agreed, no barn door--IMO those are really if you literally have no other option. Here, you already have a door that is better than a barn door. If you don't want the double door, I'd narrow the doorway to 36" and have a single outswing door opening to the left side--it looks like there's plenty of space without particularly intruding into the bedroom (certainly no more than the double doors currently do).

If you're really set on a barn door, you'd either need to move or narrow the opening or have two, one on each side, since there isn't room against the wall for a single door the width of the current opening. That would be a huge pain to use, and barn doors also don't contain bathroom noise as well as the doors you have now.

No barn doors and can you show us where those doors ar ein relation to the bathroom IMO much smaller single door but i need to see where they are .

Retired home care nurse here. Please keep these doors & lg entrance way. Believe me when I say you never know when you will 1.br on crutches or 2. Walker or3. Wheel chair or have a family member come to live with you for perhaps to recoup from surgery. We had built our home with wide w/c doorways, no carpet (difficult to use W/c). Little did we know at the time we both would need knee surgery

Mother in law had 3 surgeries needing help plus a sister needing constant care between surgeries for 6 months! Our home was a blessing! Hope this helps you!
