Kate, are the zinnias hardy for you……..I dont know anything about zinnias. I am loving the photos of Tahiti Sweetie this season, such glorious color! Roseabelle V.V. caught my eye…..I love bitones but dont have many.

Sherry, I bought profusion zinnias last year in 2 colors and loved them! This year I found 6 different colors and bought lots of them to make huge color clumps-these are only a few in this photo. They bloom nonstop until frost. I save seeds from my zinnias to plant the next year but often have volunteer plants. The big pink one is State Fair zinnia. They are not perennial but super easy to grow here.

Look at all those profusion Zinnias. Do you have names with any of them? I was wondering what the red one was. My Zinnias are surviving but not thriving as I had hoped. I think the cool spring weather set them back as seedlings and they are just now trying to form good root systems - which is a challenge for any plant in triple digit heat. They are blooming, but yours look really full and well rounded. Mine are still in 6 inch pots.......You have 2 daylilies I like: your Noid and, Rosabelle Van Valkenburgh. I've been interested in the past about Lilypad and wanted to see if the form was always rounded like that. I like the color..........Maryl

Maryl, the tags just said Profusion Red and Profusion Yellow etc. The only one different was Fire Orange and is not pictured. I got 72 of these zinnias (in six packs) so there will be more photos of these!!

Beautiful grouping Kate. I don't know how you are able to tolerate that much heat. Morning walks are the best time to get out and appreciate your hard work. I like seeing some perennials with the daylilies.

The heat is awful. It was 97 here this afternoon with a heat index of 114. I love that first one - whatever it is. Cabaret Cabernet is a striking clump with all those dark, dark flowers. I'm impressed that August Wedding has so many rebloom scapes coming for you. You still have a lot of pretty daylilies blooming.

Julia, I am out at sunrise for walks and photos. Even then it quickly becomes humid and heat hazy. It hurts to breathe so not much going out after then!

Debra, I like the noid as well! I have gone back through invoices and lists and just can’t find a match. I will just enjoy it!! And yes, August Wedding is a bud builder and I am thrilled to have all those rebloom scapes!!

WE were only 97 today instead of the 101 predicted, but I doubt you can tell the difference. We are all sweltering with high heat indices but next week is supposed to be better.

Kate, You Tahiti Sweetie id gorgeous again. I always like bitones so Rosabelle Van Valkenburgh is a beauty. Mint Octopus is lovely. Mine did not do well this year. Trahylta looks good and was low here too this year. And your lost tag beauty is a keeper. The zinnias add so much color. Great post, Kate.

Pinewood Lily Pad is sorta on my wish list. I will be keeping an eye on yours for how it does. Hakuna Matata is one of my favorites here because of how well it blooms. Mine had its 1st bloom yesterday. Love your Tahiti Sweetie

Kay, I feel so sorry for people who work in this heat. The UPS driver knows he is welcome to water I keep in a cooler in the garage. I have seen him grab a bottle now and then. Mint Octopus only put up one original scape with few buds. I was glad to see this rebloom. I am surprised Trahylta bloomed at all-it is in a very dry, poor soil bed.

Nancy-I decided to try Pinewood Lily Pad-I hope it straightens out a little!! This is FFE so we shall see. HM is finally blooming well.

And, incidentally, those excessive heat warnings are for real and miserable, are they not?!

Interesting that August Wedding has lots of blooms, as Korth touted the fact that June Wedding Vow was much improved over AW in terms of bud count.

Mantis, I checked the date on August Wedding’s first bloom and it was May 12. Last bloom was the day I posted this so it has bloomed nonstop for six weeks. The next day, without taking a break, blooms began on one of the 9 rebloom scapes. If June Wedding Vow is improved over that, it must be spectacular!! :)
