The pictures of AK on the HL show puckering on the leaves. Mine are smooth.

On second look, mine do have slight puckering, and one of the pics on HL are smoother. You may be right!!!

Yes I thought of Risky Business too but the leaves on it are a bit smaller I think. It could be Lakeside Spellbinder . It will flower in a while so that will help narrow it down. Any chance of a pic from the side so we can see the leaf tips more clearly?

I have Risky Business and went out to look at it, as it was my first guess. It doesn't have the wisps of white near the base of the leaf. Also, it's (at least, mine, which is new this year) has a real dark green color. Also, the stripe on mine is an off white, not clear white.

I've had Anne Kulpa twice. It's beautiful for about 3 weeks in the spring and then the center melts out. However, I'm in Texas, so some varieties are difficult. So, I'm guessing from memory.

puckering is a maturity issue.. and i would not expect a med to med large hosta to show puckering for 3 to 5 years ... so i would not rule out suggestions based on lack thereof...

im not any good on the name game.. and this is one reason why.. to me.. it looks like one of the nine billion strip tease knockoffs.. and good luck narrowing it down ... to which one... but we can have fun trying.. of course...

I got it last year, so you are right on the money. again, Ken. I am amazed at how large it has gotten in one year.

NBC was my first thought as well.

Beth, as soon as I read your post, I said, "Oh, yeah" even before I saw the photo. Like most of my hosta, that's another one I lost to rhizoctonia root rot. I didn't toss the photos, though.

The Missouri Botanical Garden says the leaves of NBC are 8" x 3". Mine are 10" x 8", and your pictures make it look like the leaves on your NBCs are also bigger than 8x3. Yes?

Yes. The hosta database lists leaves as 12 x 7.
