Liquid fence on tomato plant

Hi - hoping someone might have experience they can share - I sprayed my tomato plants with liquid fence without reading about it first. I probably did spray some of the tomatos (still green) that are growing there, though I didn't make a point to do that. Does this mean I can't/won't want to eat them? I expect it will be awhile before they ripen enough to want to eat them. Will that be enough time for any negative effects (e.g., taste, for one!) to go away?
