It would appear as if mosaic viri are predominantly spread by aphids. A quick search did not produce evidence of the mosaic family -there are several species- infecting hostas, but why take a chance. There's no cure. Uproot what you have and destroy it, as in BURN IT.

Thank you, Pieter. I hated doing it but I did bag them and put them in the trash. They were in different areas from the hostas.

never heard of any relation to hosta...

did you know.. many variegated plants come from plant specific virus... and many other maladies that cause the deviation from norm.. but the problem has no impact on any other plant...

or so some master grower and TC dude told me 2 decades ago or so..

wonder if its covered in the link on the hosta library page...??

I also did some looking and as Pieter and Ken indicated,found no evidence of this affecting hostas. And I also would not take the chance.
