I've been looking for comparisons between those same model levels, (though both XL). The functional differences I've seen between the 2 generations, just by what has been shown in some demo videos, other than cosmetic, (the stainless is now behind the handle rather than the top and bottom), are as follows:

1. The addition of WiFi with the ability to communicate with the Miele mobile app. I can only speculate, but this may also enable over the air firmware updates, or possibly menu updates. But I'm guessing that it at least provides notification of prompts and timers for various recipes.
2. The ability to lower the broiler element by pulling a spring loaded pin to enable an easier, (or any), way to clean the roof of the oven and the broiler element.

That's all I've been able to find so far. Any product experts are welcome to chime in.

The only way to know is to compare the spec sheets and read the operating instructions on the Miele website which has both for all appliances.

Have you seen a side by side comparison? They have removed the 6000 series from their comparison tool.
