Faucet, shower, vanity

I like simple in bathrooms so I usually do 12 x24 pocelain tile on both bathroom floors and shower walls I use the same color only smaller of the shower floor or a nacrylic pan I find bathrooms are tiny and too much busy tile makes them feel smaller. I never like subway tile in showers too many grout lines for sure .Is this space connected to a guest room ? If so then IMO the spaces should connect to eachother design and color wise. I assume from the pics your home is quite traditional so maybe just a bit more info about where this is next to.I think guest bedrooms and bathrooms can be quite different than the rest of the house .As for where to have the glass wall for the shower you need a bathroom designer not your architect but I need to see the whole space .

Thanks Patricia. It is not connected to a guest room but rather accessible from a hallway. I chose the 4x8 subway to eliminate some grout lines/busyness. Thanks!

I wouldn't put real marble on the shower floor. Use a porcelain look alike instead. There have been many people on this forum disappointed with real marble there. But I don't see any problem with an oversized subway on the walls. That's what I have. I used Cararra marble on my vanity top, so if you want to use real marble somewhere, that's an option. I wouldn't do that in a bathroom used a lot by children, however. Quartz might be a better choice for a guest bath. I also like herringbone floors. If the vanity top is plain white I don't think it would be too busy. I agree with you about the half wall and door. It would look something like this:

I think your choices are very pretty. I would keep the niche the same tile as the walls though, having an accent is a tad dated. And could you put your shower controls on the "bottom" wall and your shower head on the "top"? That way your guests can open the door and turn it on without getting wet. And I like your suggestion for the pony wall and glass. We did that and put our niche in the pony wall so it can't be seen from the outside. Finally, are you sure you want a rain shower head? Personal choice but some people prefer the other kind so you can direct the water.

I agree on the half wall with glass it will add a lot of light into the shower stall making it feel learger and open IMO. I didn't see a window in you plan to add some light you can consider a door with opeque glass, As far as your tile goes either on except you may eant to add a little pop of accent color in your flooring and add it into your shower niche.

Do you need a half wall? I would Center the vanity on the wall it’s on leaving some space between the vanity and shower. Then glass that whole side - glass door ( swing or barn style) with a fixed panel beside.

If you are buying a vanity that comes with a marble top you are best off to buy it and then compare tile samples with it. You may end up with a mismatch otherwise. All those marble slabs vary and it can be significantly off from the pictures given.

Also, what will your curb be - consider that with your countertop.

I’m reconsidering some of my choices. Considering going with a 12x24 porcelain marble look tile. This one is https://www.stonetiledepot.com/product/carrara-blanco-polished-12x24/. As you can see the sample looks nothing like the picture online.
Here are my concerns:
if not marble 2x2 square on floor then what? I like the look a lot.
Will the 12x24 be too large in scale for a shower thats just 36”x52”? Would you instead purchase this tile in the 3x12 size? Polished or matte?
I’m surprised to hear accent tile in niche is passé. I see many of them here on Houzz.
