What poultice did you use? Premixed or a home concoction?

It was a home made poultice with baking soda and water.

How long ago? Is it dried out?

@millworkman, yes the poultice dried up and I removed it several weeks back.

I tried putting a paper towel soaked in acetone on it but it dried up in a jiffy and didnt make any change. It is a vertical backsplash making it hard for me to resoak without dripping everywhere.

What does the bleached spot indicate - has my homemade poultice baking soda gone in somehow? Is there a way to extract that?

Alkaline or acidic materials can damage stone. This is why the base of most poultices uses a neutral pH starch, like cornstarch, not alkaline baking soda.

Baking Soda is the go-to ingredient for any kind of stain removal poultice you search online. How could this have gone so wrong :(?

Should I put some oil to recreate the stain?

Still reeling from the fact that I have managed to bleach my quartzite despite so much care :(

I dont know if this is a false folk remedy but I am reading online that talc+Hydrogen Peroxide poultice can help remote bleach stains from granite. Should I try the same for my quartzite?

I used Stonetech Oil Stain Remover and had the same result with my quartzite counters. I'd love to hear if you were able to remedy it!
