Artwork. No furniture, no pokie little table, no rando chair - just a large fabulous piece of artwork. If you make it a gallery with multiple pieces it's going to look chaotic next to all the other pieces around it.

That wall is a viewpoint from your entry, I'm assuming, and a great piece of art will make a statement. You need color anyway so do it through art.

A big plant would work well there too.

As Jen and Jennifer suggested, or maybe both artwork and plant together. You feel the place is empty because you have no rug under your dining table. You have nice test, your place is beautiful.

I’ve heard stylists suggest no rug due to the open concept. Rather, you’re supposed to have a rug if it were a closed room🤷🏻‍♀️. Guess it’s all opinion, though. Thank you!! I have several gallery walls, so I wonder if artwork would be too much

You have enough distance for one more rug, for me dining room isn’t complete without a rug. I have same exact dining chairs you have 💁🏼‍♀️and a similar table.

I'd advocate for a rug if you really needed to delineate the space. I have a picnic table in our dining room but put a rug underneath because it's too close to our back doors and the door rug.

A gallery wall only works when somebody's can easily view it. This is kind of out of the way. I would go with one large piece, a plant that you know you could actually grow there, or smaller, defined crafts or ceramics. Color is key.
