Someone should tell my cat. Alstroemerias are my fave cut flowers as they last so long - 2-3 weeks!! I always have some in the house. My cat finds the leaves fascinating and will jump onto the table and routinely munch them if I am not looking. Sometimes she spits them up (!!), sometimes not. She has been doing this for years and with no ill effects. If they are toxic, it must take a much larger dose than she consumes to have any effect.

With all the leaves cleanly nipped off like that, I'd lean towards bunnies also.

I have tried for years to establish some alstros in this area. Previously they didn't get eaten, but did not return the next year. These are supposed to be hardy to zone 5. Everything I've read about them is they can be a bit of a garden thug, and in this spot they can thug away, but it looks like that may not be in the stars.
