Is this a weed? If so, the type?

The attached pictures are of a few plants growing in a bed of orange day lillies. I assume its a weed and require assistance in determining the type. The plants are essentially two large paired leaves growing from a thin stalk. I don't know if they are mature or will grow further and flower.

Any thoughts?
