..plenty of red hooked thorns..

I find the opening buds exquisitely beautiful..

..there is a light Tea scent to the bloom, sometimes more noticeable than others.. the centre is peachy/pink..

I should add that, I realise I ought to ask Roses Loubert, but I really don't want to do that right now, as they were good enough to send me some roses at very reasonable shipping costs, and I don't want them to think I'm complaining about one, or hinting at a refund.. I don't want that at all, and I'm delighted with this rose, I think it's stunning.. I'd just like some idea of what it may be, if not 'Mme. Falcot'..

I have Maman Cochet and Marie van Houtte and I don't think your rose is either of those. I think you might have what is being sold as Mme Falcot now.

I wouldn't want to complain too much, either, for receiving this beauty, Marlorena. Judging by the coloring I would want to say Mlle. Franziska Kruger, although I'm not certain the blooms on yours have enough petals to be that temperamental beauty. It often balls or has vegetative centers, but it nevertheless is one of my favorite tea roses, which lasted the longest in my garden because it was small enough that it could be contained in a chicken wire surround. I wonder if Sheila might have an idea since she has so many wonderful teas in her garden.

Ingrid, my MFK and Souv de Pierre Notting do look more like Marlorena's rose than do my Maman Cochet or MvH.

Interestingly, I was sent MFK (my second) instead of Souv de Pierre Notting which I had ordered. I finally got Souv de Pierre Notting and love them both.

Souv de Pierre Notting. Pierre can look peachier and MFK can look yellow or peach too.

Sheila, your SdPN certainly looks like a very likely contender. As I recall my Mlle. Franziska was always peach rather than yellow, but as we know location is everything.

Oh my, definitely a keeper! It seems to be one of those roses that looks good at every stage, and that's a big plus.

I'm so glad you're having a cool, rainy summer, Marlorena. Much better than what southern Europe is experiencing, and I'm sure your roses are appreciating it, and you probably are too. I'd be in heaven if we ever had one of those, but that never happens.

Agree completely with you, Ingrid! The idea of a cool,rainy summer sounds like Heaven to me.

Marlorena, that rose-whatever it is-is truly fantastically beautiful; I'm tempted to order a "Mme. Falcot" from Loubert in the hope of getting one like yours, whatever it is. However, with Teas I can't help but think that it's very difficult to determine identity just by the blooms ,since the flowers seem to vary so much according to climate, etc.

Like Bart says, the Teas do vary a lot. Here is Souv de PN today looking peachier.

Marlorena, you could maybe try messaging on HMF one of the ladies who wrote the Tea rose book, billy teabag.

Sheila, where did you get the correct Souvenir de Pierre Notting?

I think it was from Rose Petals nursery. They have some great roses.

thank you Sheila! RPN no longer carries it but I found it at A Reverence of Roses so now i'm on the waitlist for it. Fingers crossed I get it soon!
