COLOR HELP please

Brick and gutters are remaining the same. The gutters are an “almond” color. Windows are not pure white, more of a light taupe.

If I paint the yellow siding white (snowbound, etc.)…what color do I paint the trim?! Do I paint the trim similar to the window color? Do I paint the trim to match the gutters? HELP

Take the shutters off they do not belong there and then IMO since you have already 2 colors I would do the siding in the same as the window trim and paint the whole door whatever color you want the sidelightsIMO are part of the door it will also give the door more presense on that size of house.

An image showing the entire house would be helpful.

The problem is the roof -- lots of it and it's not a good color. It would look better darker.

I would experiment with a darker fascia and gutters -- yes, gutters are painted all the time.

Choose a light color (not white) for the body that complements the brick.

You may upload images of the brick as I've done to various paint manufacturer websites and get recommendations on colors.

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately we just replaced the entire roof due to a bad storm that hit our area. We didn’t have a lot of time to consult for picking a new color. Makes me a little sad that I didn’t go darker. I’m hoping changing the siding will make a world of difference. We also had to replace the gutters. Does painting the gutters require maintenance? Thank you for your feedback.

This is just a concept, and I cannot recommend exact colors. I'd choose from the brick something dark for the trim, and something light, but not too light for the body. Both colors need to work with the roof as well.

Unsure about the door and shutter colors.

    Here is some shutter info.

Painted with a high quality paint, gutters require no more maintenance than any painted surface.

I agree with PPF regarding a light color that works with the brick and roof. It’s difficult to tell from a computer screen, but something like the SW Zircon shown could work. Know that colors can lighten up quite a bit on the exterior.

Do check the shutter link from PPF. It has a lot of helpful info. Shutters aren’t usually a good idea on double windows.

ETA - Sherwin Wms offers a free, online color consulting service. We used it for our exterior and it was actually very helpful. Give it a try!

The shutters must go...don't fit properly, vinyl, attached to the siding. Right off the bat the house will look better because the widow will show recessed with brick trim.

Paint all trim and the gutters the white of the windows. Paint clapboard the taupe of the brick...(light).

Go a shade darker for the front door and the sidelights (it is all one piece).

I agree with PPF on the colors and positions with a few minor changes.

Thank you!!!! Love the super dark door. Would you match the fascia with the darker gutter color as well? Also curious if you agree with the others to remove the shutters…

    Shutters are architectural. Not decoration.

    Closed would cover the window.

    Open, you need shutter dogs.

    100% remove the shutters

To me gutters are not a detail to highlight so should (almost) always match the trim. Assuming the windows are vinyl or clad I would choose an off white that blends with them and paint everything that color (siding, trim, gutters, etc). As to the door I always paint just the door the accent color and the trim matches the rest of the trim. Isn’t it good we are all different.
