Hi all. I've got a Frigidaire Freezer/Refrigerator combo FGHS2631PF2 that had the spring in the clear plastic paddle of the ice dispenser module go bad. So now the paddle always has to be moved manually to either start or stop dispensing whatever is selected, instead of automatically springing back to the off position.

Just looking up parts, it seems easy enough to just replace. So i found the part number for my specific model, 242270101, and started searching online for pricing. While searching, i found there are parts almost identical to mine that just have the end number different for other only slightly different Frigidaire models.

So comes the question. How would i find out if a part is basically compatible with the one that goes with my model? If i can find basically the same part that's significantly cheaper, i'd rather get something like that. But i'm not sure how exactly to find out. Anybody have any tips on this?
