This is a personal design choice. I would never use marble on a floor or counter in my house, because other people/pets in my house would not take any precautions when using that material.

I used quartzite for my kitchen counters and quartz for my bathroom counters. No worries and no aggravation.

I put a marble countertop in my master bath a couple years ago when we remodeled, but I used porcelain everywhere else. I had a marble top in my previous house so I am used to having to treat it gently. But you can get very convincing porcelain marble look alikes for the floor and shower tile and a plain white quartz countertop for ease of use. If I ever get around to remodeling the other bath I would probably use a quartz countertop. Definitely not marble there.
