Master suite colour choices

I am struggling with final choices for master suite. We have taken 2 bed, 2 bath and created a bed bath, dressing room.
The bath is nearly finished with warm toned marble tile and BM October mist on the walls. The ceilings are vaulted cedar throughout. I was going to use BM Halo or Morning Dew on the bedroom walls. The problem is finding a finish for the closet/dressing room that is complimentary but different. I am really picturing a maximalist closet: bold colour on the cabinetry and a bold busy black veined counter on the island with contrast paint.
My questions are: should I carry the wall colour from the bedroom onto the walls in the closet or should they be the colour of the cabinetry? (I had originally pictured the closet being bold monochrome with trim and walls and cabinets being same color). Alternatively I could do the walls in the closet a lighter shade in the same family as the bolder shade on the millwork.
The colours I was picturing for the closet cabinetry are deep purples or blue/green and green.
Alternatively I could go for something 'safer' on the cabinetry and still do the bold island. Something like BM lush or barberry, lost locket on cabinets and an orange or mustard yellow on island. I love the green and pink look, so have also considered green cabinets and pink walls in the closet.
Photos show entrance to suite, closet and inspiration photo as well as bathroom as seen from bedroom.

    Chooose your bedding FIRST.

Bedding is just plain, some grey or white. I don't enjoy or plan to do 'decor' so no matching bedding or throw pillows. Bedding is of no consequence to me.

yeah, I never understand that advice, especially as I'm constantly switching my bedding around!

I don't really understand what you want advice on -- you gave a TON of info, and seem to have a clear vision, but then suddenly you're consdering neutrals, blah blah.

I guess it depends a bit on size and lighting of the space -- a deep jewel tone on walls and cabinetry could be a lot, but of course it's going to be instantly filled with clothes and shoes and so forth, so only the closed cabinetry parts will really be seen in the way like that purple mud room. I like neutrals, because I just want to find what I'm looking for, so I guess I'd go with luxe finishes on the island, like it's a luxurious set of dressers. but what you do with the walls is just... what you prefer!

Thanks. I think my main concern is doing the neutral bedroom wall back to back the the closet in a different colourway as you see both rooms as you enter the suite. I think most would do the bedroom and dressing room walls the same colour for that reason.

I guess the conclusion I'm coming to is maybe jewel tone on cabinets with a lighter shade from the same family on closet walls, so it's not so overwhelming next to the neutral bedroom. And then go with statement dressers/island as you suggested.

The photos you posted help to show that the cabinets can be diferent than the walls and still achieve that luxe look.

The ceilings are vaulted cedar throughout.

These are lovely, and it's essential that you keep them in mind as you make your other color choices. They're a strong statement. You must be careful not to bring in too many stars, as they'll fight against one another.

should I carry the wall colour from the bedroom onto the walls in the closet or should they be the colour of the cabinetry?

I'd say choose a color to serve both the bedroom and the closet ... but make the closet a deeper, more intense shade.

Do consider that you're going to bring in clothing of all colors, and that'll affect your overall look.

Alternatively I could go for something 'safer' on the cabinetry and still do the bold island.

This seems like a much better idea. Those colors are wonderful, but it'd be very easy to grow tired of them, and painting cabinetry isn't cheap or easy. Perhaps you could bring in the bold color in other ways?

Bedding is just plain, some grey or white. I don't enjoy or plan to do 'decor' so no matching bedding or throw pillows. Bedding is of no consequence to me.

Eh, bedding may not matter to you, but it will still make a strong statement in the room. The bed is a large item, central to the room, and it draws the eye. A solid neutral is fine, but consider it as part of the overall plan -- can't be an afterthought.
