The stairs leading to the loft are currently carpeted. Carpet is in decent shape but was thinking a re-fresh would be nice. Stairs are not to current code-only 8 inches wide instead of 9- so definitely would like some sort of grip on them. I’m also concerned that by removing the carpet, there will be more of an echo. Especially since there are stairs below leading to the unfinished basement. There is a natural ending of the carpet at the top. Thoughts? Ideas?
