I would say either fabric roller shades or fabric Roman shades. I would not do blinds as that would make your place look like an apartment. I'll leave it to the design pros to say whether curtains or drapes would work in the space given the slant of the ceiling.

What are your needs? Privacy? Blocking sun? Glare on a TV? Are there other windows in the room? Whats the room used for? Is it a front window where roman shade hardware will show or be very different than other front windows? It's hard to make suggestions without more info & more pics of the whole room to show context.

Is this an attic room? You don't need window covering during the day, unless a neighbor is two stories tall. Guessing you need something to keep the early morning sunshine at bay. Again, that depends on what direction the window is...north? Then you need nothing, but you could highlight the frame and trim and add a couple of throw pillows to match on the couch.

If you do want a covering, consider an operable roman shade. I'd still paint the frame yellow.

I'd do a Duette or similar cell-type shade that mounts on the inside of the window frame.

If you could paint the dark window frame the same color as the walls and did a neutral shade, then it would all blend and almost be invisible.

Here are couple more pics for better context. This is my living room and the first picture shows the window that overlooks the backyard. The window covering on this window will always be open during the day since the room is so dark and privacy is not an issue. The window in the second pic overlooks the street. We just installed these windows so I do not to paint them as some have suggested. I originally had Hunter Douglas silhouette shades on these windows so we could still let light in but have privacy for the street side window. i also had non-operable drapes on each side. i am assuming that the window coverings

should be the same for both windows since they are in the same room. Hope this helps with any suggestions.. Excuse the messy living room!

It looks like roman shades or blinds might work best for your space since you have the couch in front of the window. Please see these designs:
