Need advice on ADU Design

We are in the process of constructing a new home. Got the design and working on editing them to fit our needs for the ADU. The current design is for master bedroom suite.

Instead of a master bedroom suite, we want to build a 2 bedroom, 2 bath ADU in the grey shaded area below. The dimensions of the grey shaded area as decided as per the City setup back and max floor plan (800 sq ft) requirements. and it cannot change, however, the location of doors, windows, etc. can change. The green color is the backyard or side yard. The red color is the main house.

Here are the requirements

1. Two bedrooms - about 10x10

2. Two full baths. Ideally, one bath is attached and the other bath is accessible from the ADU living area. Standard size with shower - no tub.

3. Small kitchen with fridge, two burner stove, microwave, and dishwasher. We are not looking to put an oven.

Our thoughts. Both Bedrooms are sized to have baths with them, since they are 10x17 and 10x15. We are not able to think - where should the bathrooms be placed so that they have windows.

Engage the architect now. Make sure they know the purpose of the ADU involves a special needs son, not like you neglected to do in your original post. The fact that you are trying to create this ADU for him and his caregiver is paramount.

Determine a realistic budget.

Define the purpose of the ADU.

Answer the questions the architect asks you.

Ask the architect questions you have.

Bring home made chocolate chip cookies with walnuts in them to the meeting.

IMO a 2 bedroom space means more than one couple and if that is the case then a 2 burner stove is pretty useless . Where are you located? Waht exactly are you planning to use this space for?

A 10 x 10 bedroom is extremely small. At best, you will get a full sized bed in it.

Is there a reason to ony do a 2 burner stovetop? With 800 sf I see no reason not to at least do a 24" apartment range, but could easily fit in a regular 36". Even if your son isn't cooking seems reasonable to give caregivers the option? And it would help with any future need to sell.
