You have a blank slate here & also have that cute doggie’s undivided attention! 😊 Good start with coffee table coming. You have nice traffic paths open on both sides of sofa as placed now - both against back wall & between sofa & console. Here’s what I would do.

1. push sofa towards windows just enough for room to place a long console table behind sofa. You don’t want console table to block entry from that doorway is why I say push forward. Hoping you have floor outlets under that sofa - if yes, place a lamp on side closest to curve of sofa. Layer lighting in room. Overhead light is ok but not for reading or evening watching TV

2. think about ways to use the 2 column stands - place one in front of each window or in the space between window & door & put a live plant on them - greenery adds life to any space.

3. Put Pelican on the floor in corner by window on TV side of room or put it on TV console

Put the lantern up there too. Get rid of the candle. A nice collection of larger items grouped together looks more planned & less like clutter.

5. Put basket of throw pillows in opposite corner - get away from doorway to open it up.

6. Can’t see the art on wall opposite TV but think about pillows & throw colors using colors from that art.

7. Don’t know about spacing but after console table added maybe there’s room for a chair on window side of room?

couple of ideas - big rug for the seating area; consider a more modern looking fan. Task lamps for the seating area; tall plant in corner next to tv.

Get a big indoor/outdoor rug. It will be fine with all creatures. Make some decisions about art you would like on the walls. Quite frankly I would get another pelican and keep the one you've got!

You home style seems very farmhouse like so I think you should go with that look. Add a brown and beige rug like the one pictured above and light beige throw pillows to tie the grey walls in with the brown sofa. Add a rustic oak coffee table that will contrast with the white media console

Lose the display pedestals or at least one of them. Put a large fern on just a single. Start with a big area rug to anchor the space. Paint the tv console to a unified clean finish. The "rustic" faux worn is making it look cheap.
