Need Help to solve rough feeling refinished floor

Hi! I had a honey oak stain on my hardwood floor, which I hated. So, I decided to change it to a natural look. My contractor did everything he was supposed to do, and he’s saying the floor is ready. However, when I walk on it, it’s very rough. My socks get stuck, and if I touch it, I feel like I could get hurt by the rough wood grains. What’s the solution? Should we sand it and apply a poly coat? We used Bona water-based polyurethane.

Please help with your suggestions.

Ready for what? How exactly did he sand? What grit paper and in what order? How many coats of stain and what brand? How many coats of Bona and what Bona product exactly?

Ready to move in. I am not sure of grit paper and order but I will ask him. No stain as I decided to keep it natural tone. 3 coats of Bona finish traffic 2k hd with hardener satin finish.

He is still working on second floor but I am concerned that it will turn out the same. How exactly should he sand to get smooth finish and how many coats of bona required ? Plus any other tip ??

Someone told me because I am not using semi gloss finish but satin finish that can also cause the roughness. I don’t think so but if someone wants to clarify that for me.

If, your refinisher followed Bona's sanding instruction on the bottle. The finish should be smooth. You will need to find out what they did and read the bottle. The finish will be smooth with all sheen if, instructions are followed.
