i have similar windows with 9’ ceilings. Used 96” drapes with rod mounted a bit above window frame to that panels just graze the floor

They should drop to about 1/2-1" off the floor unless you want a puddle. Probably 1" if you have carpet. I've read that you should hang 4-6" above window frames. I'm sure there are many opinions on this. So decide where you want to hang the rod.

I would hang a rod half way between the window trim and the ceiling. I like my drapes to have a "trouser break" so just a bit longer than floor height.

Curtains TOUCH the floor or break just slightly. The "water" never gets an inch deep let alone an inch and a half. I call that length......"flood" : )

First decide what your privacy and light control will be.....

In that type of setting, I like to reduce the look of header. Mount privacy above the window casing, half way to the nine feet, and THEN the rod and panels.

The windows were set too low here. and the room was missing the transoms that were in a family room at the other end of the home. Very awkward !!

The woven shades in pics here, are about 8 inches above the casings, greatly reducing the overwhelming proportion of drywall and header.

For me, Just mounting a rod higher doesn't quite cut it : )

On the bedroom windows, your decision is do you want the light control as inside mount/3 or to outside mount and lower ONE ..and what will that be. Or do you want a traverse rod and fullness to pull closed? I would NOT be inclined to 102" if just rod and panels ......some things can't be faked - 96 is plenty.
