Hi again, seeking more of your expert counsel!

We recently wrapped up a remodel following a water line leak. As we worked with insurance we just capped the lines since we planned to reconfigure the layout and could live without hot water in the kitchen and bath (green highlight) for a few months.

Problem is, plumber and contractor failed to reroute the line to the bathroom, they only moved the kitchen line that feeds the sink and dishwasher.

Contractor now states we never mentioned the lines feed the bathroom and it’s new scope. That’s just not true- I even walked his plumber through the house prior to remodel to see if he could reconnect these lines since insurance was taking too long. His statement of work only indicates “plumbing changes.”

It seems reasonable to me that any scope including “plumbing changes” would require a plumber to understand the layout of the plumbing and then to confirm all lines operate as expected following those changes.

I need a sense check on my expectations. Thoughts welcome! Especially ways to speak their language and strengthen my case for repair.
