Issue with the quartzite or issue with installer? Spreading spot...

We've been in a huge fight with Toll Brothers, our home builder, over our kitchen countertops. There we're cracks they insisted weren't cracks, chipped corners, etc. They put their bandaid fixes on them, but now we have this brown spot that was there from the start that has clearly started to spread. The white around it wasn't there before. Any idea what this is? This is not an area where we put things or eat from...very low traffic. b
