Do Mexican Feather Grass seeds survive winters where it freezes?

I live in Washington State, in the north east section of the Olympic Peninsula. Zone 8, but winters usually have a few snow days, lots of frosty nights, and occasional stretches of freezing (degrees between teens to 20s).

I know established plants are perfectly happy here, just want to know how invasive they might become. The only articles I've seen warn us off, but only use the reasoning that they're invasive in warmer climates.
