I would get black or dark grey switches and plates from Lutron and change them. I don't think utilities need to be highlighted, it's nice when they blend in.

Personal preference. However, light outlets on dark walls tend to look like the bits of kleenex a man puts on his face after an unfortunate shave. There are *tons* of choices for outlets and switches these days, so you might look for some that are closer to the wall color without disappearing. Nickel, iron, or bronze might be good choices, depending on your overall style. You can definitely get rocker switches to match any of those, or a shade lighter or darker.

Well...guess I'm standing all alone with this opinion - I like white ceilings, white trim, and white wall plates. The matching contrast to darker walls looks nice to me. Just call me a heathen! (smile)
