I have no idea what is wrong with your plant, but when you moved did it get left in a car too hot or cold or left in the dark a few days? Have you overwatered?

When I have a plant like that I unpot it to see what is going on in the potting mix. Is it evenly damp? Or soggy? You could repot with fresh mix. I often trim back a bit which can sometimes stimulate growth.

I have two large Christmas/Thanksgiving plants. Wish I could give you some cuttings in case this one doesn't make it!

Looks like too much light and not watered often enough. I know you stated whole greenhouse is in a shaded area but maybe where this plant sits, it is getting a few rogue sunrays hitting parts o f the plant directly, in the areas where its turning purple. I had one in a hanging basket, on a shepard hook, parked under the edge of a large silver maple tree canopy. It started getting some direct sun rays coming through gaps in the tree branches and from western slanting sunrays in early fall. It was my 1st Easter cactus and it ended up looking like your does now. Mine didnt survive but if you gave yours about an hour-long soak in some rainwater & moved it around to spot with better overhead shade, I think you’ll be ok.

Rebecca, you could be right. However when mine are

iin direct sun, they turn red. plants can sunburn of course, bit thats not sunburn. A good soak could help because sometimes the rootball dries out and water just flow around it.

Thank you very much! The pics are of several plants over the years. I didn't put any of them in that much sun this year since it doesn't seem to be necessary for a great show of blooms later, and that much sun makes the pots dry out so much more quickly. A sudden increase can cause a sunburn, but this species is tolerant of full sun once acclimated.

This is not from this year. Mine stay outside until there is sign of some frost. The cool and long nights encourage bud formation.

I love both the tropical, epiphytic cacti and their xerophytic compadres. Cacti are awesome!

Me too. They don't all love me back, but that's OK. LOL!
