Large cactus HELP!!

I’ve had my large cactus for 1.5 years now and everything has been fine until recently. i noticed these ”mold-like” spots and also noticed the ”flaps” are closing in meaning the’re kind of wilting in. It gets sunlight from sunrise to mid-afternoon.

please help! this is the only live plant i have ever owned so i dont know what I’m doing!

i dont understand the 4th pic... where it looks like it cut through some sheet rock or ship board with decorative moss above.. but what the heck is below.. and how wet does the media stay...

is that something new.. and have the problems started since that was put there??

the cardboard has always been there with the moss since the beginning. It’s just what I put on it so that it hides the random stuffing used to elevate and keep the main pot inside from moving. 4th pic just shows more of those white spots at the trunk of the cactus
