Maybe in the dining room have a mirror over the sideboard on the wall opposite the window.

How about some art like this?

    Sorry... like this?

It comes in different sizes and you can choose different frames. https://www.greatbigcanvas.com/view/thicket-wildflowers,2614309/

This server opposite the window gives you mirrors but lower and repeats the gold accents in the light fixture. You could place the wildflower art over it.

If you want a mirror on the wall perpendicular to the window, you could still use this one turned sideways.

How about this on the wall perpendicular to the window. Add this little lamp (noticed an outlet over there).

Other options for art in various places.

I like these pieces because they use light in exciting yet happy peaceful ways.

How would you feel about a new living room rug?

I think these two in your living room might be fun.

If you put the mirror in the dining make sure no one has to see their reflection in the mirror - eating! 😜

Another lamp option with the sideboard.

@Jackie Kemper funny you mention that. We have a buffet in our dining room that has a thin mirror at the top between the main body and a small upper shelf. Our son used to like to sit opposite at the table so he could watch himself as he told his marvelous stories. I often thought he was practicing for some stand-up comic routine. No, he didn't become a comic, at least not yet.

@KL, where did you get that first rug?

I like the chandelier that ffpalms suggested -- I was also going to lean something with cloth shades, or a drum, simpler and lower than what is there.

A large piece of Art can really bring in a wave of deftness and add more color and life to your room. It acts as a style to your room.

@K L do yo know the size of this server? Space is only 60". This one looks like it may be larger than that.

Here is an alternative server for your dining room if you want light colored chairs.

@angpace here is the lowest cost versionI found on the internet:

    https://www.amazon.com/Bassett-Mirror-2502-DR-576EC-Portia-Server/dp/B06X9Q6HWX

    It is 72"W x 19"D x 36"H

Something I learned to do recently with my pixel pro phone, and I bet others can too, is to take a screen shot of items I like, open the picture and click "lens". And up pops information about the thing. I use it to shop for things and identify plants, mostly weeds. You may enjoy doing that with your phone. Meanwhile I am enjoying being able to help others. ☺️

I googled (shopping) "mirrored sideboard 60" or less" and there's all kinds of options with gold colored metal trim, silver, or wood. What really excites you?

@angpace I really enjoyed "shopping" on-line for you and thought you might like to know the keywords I used: "transitional decor", "transitional dining room light fixture", transitional dining room area rug", "transitional dining room art". I love all the pretty colors that came up in the results, and I love the gold and glass to add sophisty light and cheery brightness to your space. However this is your space, and I can adjust my shopping with your feedback. So far I know you are interested in a mirrored buffet but the first one was too big. Is 60" the width you need or must you accommodate door trim and would prefer a specific smaller size?

Here is the mirror you liked: https://www.homedepot.com/p/StyleCraft-Gemma-22-05-in-H-x-34-06-in-W-Rectangle-Framed-Decorative-Mirror-DW28165DS/320775879

@K L thanks for all this information below. I will say that I liked this sideboard the best.

So hopefully I can find something similar. The 60" is the total wall space next to the window. I would think it would be best if I went with 58' or below. Would worry if I did 60" and it looked cramped. Appreciate all your help.

@angpace I agree. No crowding. This one is 50', has black legs and an orange feminine side. I'll keep looking. https://www.potterybarn.com/products/lillian-2-door-mirrored-buffet/

Ornate! Not orange. Silly spell check.

I think you have to consider how to work with your somewhat traditional living room also, and you mentioned a transitional feel for dining room, so chair choice will be important as a first step.

Before you begin selecting items, look for inspiration/combinations that you could see working together, ie: adding similar rugs, lighting, color and art. Save ideas.

Dining chairs are coming this week. So once those come in will work on the sideboard next. Hard when looking online vs going into a store to see the piece. Thanks for everyone's advice.

@kl23 What do you think of this?

The Bassett Portia is my favorite but 72" will not work in my dining room.

@angpace I think it's pretty. I read that there are shelves inside and the top is mirrored. That could be so fun. A couple places sell it so you can price bargain.

If you tell @K L which size you need I bet she’ll find it. I like the one you like.

Maureen also showed you how the pieces need to harmonize. Would a bit of black on the console work for you? They look great in Maureen’s photo with the dark table.

@RedRyder Thanks, I gave K L my size requirements, and she found great options. I love the Bassett Portia server, but it's too big for my 60" wall.

I don't mind some black accents. Trying to go with something lighter in color since room is not that large

@Red Ryder thanks for the vote of confidence. @angepace found this one and it's 50" wide. Home Depot has it, among others, for $679.99. This vendor shows additional pictures and close-ups!

Hello @kl23...Wanted to get your thoughts for this sideboard that I saw this weekend for my dining room. TKS!

It's very pretty. I assume it fits?

Yes it’s 54 inches long. Saw it At Home. Thanks!!

@angpace I am renovating my entire upstairs space and have recently concluded that none of my bedroom furniture will fit, with the exception of one bed, and I must choose. I am looking forward to choosing lovely furniture like your new piece.

Please add a photo when you get it in place. Are you able to edit your original post as a reference?

@kl23 I am sure you will be picking some beautiful pieces. Will be sure to add a photo of the piece once I get it. Thanks!

I think you scored! That piece is lovely - and without being “too much” it adds uniqueness to your dining room.

Is the color right for your room? The size seems perfect - and I’m sure if you found it At Home it was well priced.

@RedRyder thanks, price is great and was able to see on display so that is a plus. I more than postive it will work. Since many of the pieces that were suggested were on the same line(color).

@angepace it's lovely! I love the graceful curves. It looks better in your room than the advertisement. Well done!

I'm still in love with this print. But art is do personal. Do you have any prints or wall art you'd love to display?
