Post some pictures here and on the Name That Plany forum and state where you are located geographically. That should give you a correct id and then people can give advice based on that information.

In a previous yard we grew a couple of jujubis but removed one of them for sending out suckers. I don't know if they were grafted which would mean the runners would be from whatever the rootstock was but we didn't really like them anyway!

We had a Lang and a Li and found the fruit quite dry and ”soapy” tasting. You could give them a chance to see if you like the taste but that depends on how much time and space you have. The dogs did seem to like them:)

agree.. we need pix.. and a proper ID... to give valuable information..

but one thing is clear.. actually two..

first.. most things that mysteriously appear.. shoot out of the butt of a bird.. prefeertilized.. if you get my drift ... and you are never going to stop the birds..

and the rest.. if they come under the fence from the neighbors huge plant.. are not going to be stopped.. because you dig one part up.. no matter what you do with it thereafter ... more are coming....

this may be your first.. but i suspect it wont be your last..

now lets get that ID...

Thank you for your initial responses. I tried uploading a photo with my first post unsuccessfully. I will try again now. I live in Southern California close to Long Beach,, about a half hour inland from the beach. The fruit on the bush grew quickly to this size but has not gotten bigger than what is seen in the photo although I think jujube fruit should be much larger. Thank you for your help in identifying my mystery plants.

Looks like you have the right ID. The fruit there does look small. Maybe it is a seedling.
