If you are talking about honey oak trim everywhere? Use painted cabinetry. Please.

As to color or white or anything else? Show the kitchen you are redoing and the plan for the new kitchen

Oh, I see a small window. What if you remove the cabinets near the window, use open narrow shelves and use up-lighting wherever you can?

IMO no choices until new lighting is installed I like LED bulbs 4000K in kitchens but 3500K can work but all the lighting needs to be the same So lots of pot lights not one center fixture

Have you decided on a new flooring? How to finish the cabinets will depend on that choice. I’d consider leaving the cabinets as they are since they are are harmonius with the rest of the trim in the house, and let them dictate your other choices for a new look.

If you are keeping the oak trim get white cabinets... To me any other wood tone will look like you tried to match but failed.

If you do want to paint or stain the cabinets, this is a color palette that goes well with oak trim.
