I added a low bookshelf unit for storage and houseplants under the windows and a slim storage unit next to the Kitchen. And the chest in the LV.

So your recent revised version is how I had the room set up originally:) except the tv was under the window. the door is to the balcony..the lower space is for a hallways that leads to the entrance.

So now I have the bed where i have the pencil outline in the original post...the top left.

The furniture I hve that needs to . be placed:

- tv/stand

-sofa

-rectangualar dinning/office table w chairs

-tall solid book case that has office stuff including printer

-standing white board

-2 thin and tall book cases..i'll try to upload real . pics!

Can the work table mover closer to the corner? It would make a bigger living room. Or against the wall and you would sit on the end.

I love the bed where you have it..in the photos it looks nice and makes a separate area...good idea.

Will one of the storage units fit on the kitchen wall on the other side of the cooktop? It looks like it.

All in all you have a good basic layout down I beiieve and now it's a matter of fine tuning. Once things are more oganized please post more photos. Honestly a little difficult to picture the space from just ;photos of furniture, for me anyway. Where are the other Houzzers?

No need to be sorry. I was hoping there was a second entrance so you could close it off, but it's not to be. Without getting a smaller bed or a murphy bed I think you have the bed in the only place it'll fit. Could you back your sofa up to the end of your bed then place the tv unit along with all your black metal units on the wall where your sofa is now? Like a makeshift wall unit. I would then place the white bookcase beside your bed facing outwards. Your desk can stay where it is but maybe tucked up a bit. Can you use your white board folded up and against the wall? I think the mirror should move to the foyer or bathroom, perhaps mounted on the back of a door?

All this has been so helpful!! I did some of the suggestions.. the mess is making hard to imagine though 🤦🏽‍♀️ and im thinking of moving the white cabinet on the tv wall.. for practicality sake 😬

A tiny suggestion, the tall lamp can go in the corner behind the bed. The foot of the light should tuck under the bed. It would help balance out the height of the bookcase. It might work elsewhere too, but I thought it might be good if you're reading in bed.

Ildi, I agree with nelliebean suggestion about tall lamp. It’s nice to have a reading light by bed. I saw a long script fabric covered ‘trunk’ piece at end of bed in the first group of pics you posted that would look great in front of couch as a coffee table. Place a tray on top for a more solid surface & to protect fabric. Your gray long area rug - runner shape I think - would be good in front of sofa too. It would be good for TV viewing if you could raise the height of TV. Could you try setting it on top of a couple of the storage boxes you have around or on your black shelves? They seem sturdy & the TV is light. Do you have art you can hang above bed & on wall by kitchen entry?

Changes you’ve made look great. I’m confused about rugs. If you got the colorful HD rug for the couch area would you keep the one you have along side the bed? The patterns fight with each other. Also I see you’re checking sizes with painters tape which is a great thing to do. Which section would the 4 x6 cover in front of couch? You have several layout lines. I would want to have couch area rug big enough to have couch front feet on it & the rug extend to the line at front entry door.

I haven’t purchased that rug but i want it so bad… but you are right it would conflict w the other one. I have a beige rug too.. i may have to not buy yo save money 🤷🏽‍♀️ the other is perfectly good to just get rid of! Ahhh the problems 🤪

I agree with @tracefloyd. Keep both of the rugs as you have them now & add color with decor items. I would definitely hang a large art over the bed - maybe no frame but a canvas wrapped around stretcher bars type. I’d pull colors from that art for throw pillows on both couch & bed.

I'm impressed! Your space has really taken shape. Live it in a while and let it evolve naturally. Only add things you love along the way. I also agree with the others that your current rugs look fine.

I agree let the space evolve...you mentioned budget --which is much easier to control without impulse buying just to 'finish' up.

Look for bargains, new and used, that are of utmost quality, they will last forever and never look dated.

In regards to art, a canvas print is fun, but not of high quality. Original art in any style is so much more interesting.
