Yes, you can apply another brand of water base finish on top of your current water base finish. Getting a smooth finish is based on the experience of the installer not the product.

they cam this moring , bufffed and applied 1 coat of Loba WS satin finish and left and said they are not coming back tomorrow - i called and said that is not what i paid for- they said they can come back on wednesday but my appliance are being deliverd Thursday/Friday and i am nervous the floors wont have time to cure-

just like that - now they are saying they never agreed to 2 coats

if, the format is in a list and it is listed twice. It would mean two coats.

You already have two previous coats. This one is a third. All you need is three for proper performance. If , it looks good. Negotiate a discount for the miscommunication. Although, you have already paid the balance. Your best bet is to get another coat.

Another company with lack of experience and resources.

They can use hand held mouse sanders or rotary sanders. Worst case scenario, hand buff it.

Yes and Yes. It's fine to go over water with water. Two components are better than the single ones.

Yes, you can finalize after appliance and countertops are in.

You have a few coats on already. One coat of Traffic is good.

For 950 square feet, you will need three gallons of Traffic for the project. They only need 2 1/2 gallons to finish. Expect a 1/2 gallon leftover or waste. With three coats already applied, it may only take two gallons.

A person who knows what they are doing will not rush through the project.

Estimated time 950 sf.

Abrading 2 1/2 hours.

Cleaning 21/2 hours

Coating another 2 1/2 hours

If, they are in and out within a hour. You have trouble.

next problem- after installing stone counters, crew wiped down floors with rubbing alcohol and now there are streak marks in the pattern of the wipe- did this remove a layer of the 1 1/2 week old poly?!

did they strip a layer ofthe polyurethane off in that area?!

Wow, a bunch of knuckle heads working. Tgey spilled acetone on the finish. it needs a sand and finish.

where are you located?

So, what are your floors like now with the buffing and one coat of polyurethane? Unless there was very significant bubbling of the original poly I'm guessing the grittiness isn't from the poly but from the floor not being properly prepared and/or properly cleaned. If it's the latter I doubt you will be able to get rid of the grittiness until the floor is completely stripped and refinished. Keep us updated on your floors and good luck!
