any chance at some pix... i dont recall the AG type sedums offering a yellow variation ...

Species Sedum spectabile, now Hylotephelium spectabile, is variable and there are also several named cultivars and a subspecies but few have yellow flowers, although there are a couple. Possibly you have two Sedums mixed together or the original plant has died off leaving a hitchhiker behind.

Pictures would definitely help clear up the mystery.

That does sound odd. I've never had sedum bloom in a color different than previous years.

the yellow(ish) plant was eaten down to stumps. one is now pink. one that's close to where my hives were is still red but not as deep of a red. the rest & there were quite a few patches just died off. my thumbs are pretty green. the 2 plants that i cannot seem to succeed growing are french tarragon & lavender. the pink one i do not recall planting. i might have dropped a leaf there.

There are darker red named cultivars. If you have had these a long time they might have self seeded and produced a variety of different pinks tending to revert to the paler colour of the species.
