Can you use the same tile as you put in the base of the niche?

I just use smooth trim tiles all the way around the sides of the niche, that are deep enough to cover the entire depth of the niche. If I can’t find matching trim tiles, I use a contrasting stone that can be cut to fit, and a matching pencil trim.

I used a matte stone tile once that was easy to sand the edge to make an eased edge. Probably did not need pencil trim.

I rarely agree with Lomo but how the heck are you ever going to clean that shower.

Kelli_ga is on point. That's what we would do for a custom and appropriate finish. The metal edge trims are a disconnect here.

I hope that bath is for a client and not you...........or the cleaning help is three times a week : ) and she has an arsenal of scrub brushes.

Terrible tile choice. Not at all suitable for a wet area. Design malpractice.

I had white tile in the shower with a subtle smooth large basketweave texture and it was easy to clean. It depends on the depth, size and sharpness of the waves. My interior designer even approved it!

She didn’t care for my other option which was small sharp cube projections at different depths. I think I’ve seen that used in a bathroom or shower on TV. Or maybe in a living area. It would still get dusty.

There are steam and water tools advertised for hands-free shower cleaning. Haven’t tried those.

Not for me to comment on design. Simply how to make it work.
