Need help with final touches

Hi. I have been changing my open plan kitchen, dining, living into a black, silver, blue, light timber colour scheme. I have sent lots of photo's. The large window has a bright blue pool behind it and that is why I have decided to add bright blue inside. I originally was going to paint all walls dark grey, but have now decided against it. I would still like to paint a colour with maybe a feature wall paper wall. Would like wallpaper behind tv but don't know how to end it in the open plan concept. I will be changing the tv unit to gloss white and the tv will be put on the wall. I would also like to put a mirror up somewhere. I have also put a canvas art print photo up which I would love to have on my wall. Would it be too much blue or would the red, blue, orange one be better. Thanks

Hi Simone, you have a lovely home that just needs a bit of tweeking.

Could you try these ideas.

1. The sofa table in the kitchen - could you put it behind Sofa #1 with silver vases from top of pantry - and then a large print over that.

2. Move the pantry down, more into the kitchen area and put the water cooler beside it, on the right so it's in the kitchen area and hidden a little from family room. Don't put anything on top.

I think the table is better placed lengthwise to the room, you have changed in round if one of the pictures.

The 2 fixtures over the island need to be lowered a little.

How about wallpapering around the patio door with a paper with Teal in it.

The three long pictures over Sofa #1 would be better placed in the hall. right hand side as we see it.

The red/orange/blue pic would be nice, maybe over Sofa #1 and you could add a "few" red pieces around the room.

The sofa with back to patio door, could you move it so back is to the kitchen, then they would be looking
out to pool, not at kitchen clutter.

Just a few thoughts. Maybe some will work. It's hard to tell how much room you really have from pictures, but you could try and see how it looks/fits

The space is amazing. For decoration i think that the colorful one is going to be too much and maybe not so relaxing. I think tha you should put many little frames, black or white, with places that to like, memories, quotes that inspire you, pictures of you an your friends.

Hmm... I do like the idea of adding a large colourful print as the one you've picked, Use painters tape and tape the shape and size of it on the wall where you want to have it and see how it looks. Or use paper and sticky tape to make the size/shape of it and tape that to the wall. You can try it out all around your room to see where it would look best.
You've kept very rigidly to your colour scheme so far and that makes it a bit... dare I say it... boring. Sorry. So definitely go for a colourful piece and not one that is only blue.

And, I know it's just one of those silly things, but you need to find another place, out of sight, for your trash can. Or if that is not at all possible, get a stainless steel, good looking one.

I would put the blue pillows together in the left corner of the sofa that's against the wall and in the right corner of the sofa that's in front of the window. And perhaps find one or two pillows that have a pattern to add to them.

You could only wallpaper part of the wall where the TV is and leave it blank on the side of the windows and of the door. I'll see if I can find you an example of that. But I would rather wallpaper the entire length of that wall. Would be stunning.

Found an example of only part of the wall papered, but in your case I would take it up to the ceiling.

Stenciling part of the wall could be a better option for you. Easy to paint over.

A great idea also is to put stickers for the walls. Go to that website. Open the e-shop and then click to the oikostick. The first pages are pretty crazy but if you go to the 4th there are some amazing stickers that with take the room to the next level. This stickers are specialy made for the wall and they are very easy to install. I have some for the past 4 years and they are perfect. The website is: http://www.oikos.gr/en/ ...
