How to clean oven for real

Hi how do you clean your oven? What really works in the family home?

A search realized 8 ways including the 1000 degree self clean function and poisonous chemical methods - I can't see myself confidently using either, ever! My oven isn't a disaster but I need to clean it because my aunt is coming over lol.

I use ez off, low fumes. Its fast and its easy. The smell is almost non existent in the newer formulas. In fact, I just finished cleaning my oven this morning. Took 20 minutes, and it looks like new.

I've used ez off in the past. Yes it is a strong cleaner, but sometimes that is what is required to get something really clean.

The best way to keep an oven clean is to clean it regularly and clean any spills as soon as they happen.

If your oven has a self cleaning program ... google before using or search on this forum ... too many stories of it frying the electronics.
