I don’t think your house looks like a Tudor style and leans more modern. I would remove it and look into a wood siding painted to match your house.

I too would remove the trim boards and material... reside with a clapboard siding and paint it BM Polished Mahagony to compliment the brick... a Williamsburg Wythe Blue would be a fun contrast color for the front door.

I think you could do a greige stucco. I don't understand how the garage door limits you.

Would offer some mockups, but what on earth have you done to that first photo? Can't see the different finishes in context! (We don't care about your house numbers or light fixtures or whatever you're trying to obscure, but brick colors and mortar and texture we need!)

Your facade is Tudor-style, not fake Tudor. I like it. The details are subtle. More importantly, all that detail on the upper section detracts attention from the fact that that garage door is the main focus of your house. If you strip out the detail, you might end up with your garage overwhelming your house.

You are correct in saying your facade is '''fake Tudor''. No real Tudor would have an arched Palladian window like that.

But I like it! I'm actually surprised I like it but your whole house facade is really very nice for being so eclectic You've got a touch of MCM, A-frame and colonial. Your landscaping is very pretty.

I don't think you need to make expensive fixes. I think you can do everything with paint. If you are going to invest in anything, invest in an app that will allow you to mock-up different color combos on your computer.

I think for my first mock up I would try a very very dark green for the garage doors and trim, something close to black. This is Farrow and Ball's Studio Green

Then I might try sage for the stucco, or even a lighter version of the bluish-gray you have.

I think you need to paint all the fake Tudor beams, including inside the squares.

Sherwin Williams has a paint color called Rock Bottom that is a close match to F-B's Studio Green. Here's a photo-rich article about using Rock Bottom for house exteriors that might give you some ideas for your house

That article also shows a house that is alternatively using Benjamin Moore's Deep Creek. That might be a nice color for your stuccco with a dark dark green trim.

Here are some takes, from just simplifying, to various changes... (I did take out the curved window, which I think improves the exterior, but isn't necessary.)

Not sure what that zone is, blurred out to the right. You might want a planter to the right of that side of the garage for balance and greenery, or you might want a hanging basket, who can guess.

Homes look more welcoming and better balanced when the emphasis is on the front door and the walkway to it. A change to your landscaping and your door colour would help with this.

As you have it now, the landscaping emphasizes the division between the driveway and the walkway, especially the eye-catching taller clipped shrub and the colourful flowers. This stops the viewer's eye from travelling to the front door and chops the house in half visually. It adds emphasis to the protruding garage area.

Adding eye-catching landscaping to the other side of the walkway helps to unify the overall house shape. Keep any landscaping between the driveway and walkway very low and boring.

Painting the front door a lighter shade will also help draw the eye there. I wouldn't add any landscaping or eye-catching decoration to the far right side of the driveway, or to the garage area itself. You don't want the eye to go there. Keep the focus on the area to the left.

I also think that brown shades would look better than the grays that you have now. Brown colours can be tough to coordinate to look good with brick, so before you decide be sure to use some large sample boards, and check it out in different lights.

Your house is attractive but could look even better with these changes.

The "X" part of the fake Tudor design is what I notice and don't like at all. How about just prying those 4 boards off and seeing if you like the facade without just those 4. Might have to remove the two diagonal ones on top too.

My neighbourhood has a lot of Tudor-style (including mine), and the boards need to be replaced after awhile. Looking at the picture, it looks like that's the case here. From @limogin's comments, sounds like they aren't all that interested in maintaining this section as a Tudor style. I would agree, given that the house has no other Tudor features other than this woodwork trim. The roofline and style are not Tudor. I think that plain stucco on this section would look better.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I believe I want to add windows to the garage door and either paint the brick gray & redo the walkway to the front door in a similar color scheme. I like to idea of greige stucco and also wonder if I can really modernize the whole thing. Excited to get the feedback.
