That's really not good. Who the heck installs baseboard over a gaping hole?

I suspect someone will try to "fix" the gaps with caulk. Hard No.

Fundamentally it looks like the walls are simply not straight at all and the drywall went on over that and the texture hides what it can, but it can't hide the wall waviness.

Assume the builder will say either it will be fixed with the painters (uh, how) or that it's within acceptable tolerances.

We've seen success before using this strategy - if you are telling me I am being picky and this is perfectly acceptable, then I am sure you won't have a problem with me posting this publicly as an example of your work.

It could have been fixed if anyone had bothered to put a long level across the studs, then shim or shave as necessary. Before the drywall was attached. Now, a good plasterer could level it out. (I've had them do that in older homes.) But any builder who thinks this is presentable is unlikely to do that.

That is a terrible sheetrock job, and it would sure make me wonder, just what is going on in other areas, that I cant see. I hate to see anyone lose a lot of money, but, sometimes, it also saves thousands of dollars later, when you have a lot to fix. I wouldnt buy that house. Most new houses now, have much nicer trim, than that too.

Nah, sheet rocker just followed the framing. Tract house, they do not care time is money. Motto is next guy will have to with it. That's partially why they use wall texture, to hide the lousy workmanship beneath it. Now the poor trim guy who obviously has no idea what he is doing either just stapled it to the wall as best he could.
