Daylily deprivation pt. 4

Unlike Kay, I have no current photos to post, so I will post the last group that impressed us this season.

I am not usually a stipples fan, but Spots Before My Eyes is a good one if they like that kind of thing. It looks like it will be an excellent grower. Some people have had success getting striped daylilies out of it when crossed to other striped ones. Next season I hope to cross it with Explosion in the Paint Factory and some of the seedlings with a striped daylily in its parentage.

I really like this one. It is Summer Fun in Twenty One. It's flowers have petals twisted in strange ways.

I thought we would lose Tramps Like Us the first couple of seasons. It has finally taken off and was lovely this past season.

Vision Seeker is a fine daylily. It's not in a good spot in the garden though and needs to be moved to do its best. We generally find that Mike Derrow's daylilies do very well here.

This isn't a very good photo of Wrangler Red, but I wanted to include it because we are excited to have it. We hope to use this in our red/white breeding program. We like the intensity of the eye and the width of the edge.

/Tramps Like Us is pretty. Vision Seeker is another nice one. I like the pattern if not the base color which is a little too beige for my taste.....Not a stippling fan. But if one likes that sort of thing then Spots Before My Eyes is certainly a good example of it........Maryl

Almost missed this post……. Spots Before my Eyes is interesting, wondering what you will get with crosses. I hope you post Summer Fun next season……would like to see how the petals very from day to day.

Vision Seeker is exemplary in almost every aspect--bud count, branching, height, color intensity. I see that Michael Bouman is using VH a lot in his hybridizing. Glad to see these posts. Hope that Tramps Like Us has actually settled in and is not one of those that last summer performed when in the past they did not.

I like the eye and edge on Vision Seeker, but I don't care for the beige petal color, and I fear it would look even worse in my climate. I find Tramps Like Us the most appealing of these.

Vision Seekers is awfully pretty and so is Wrangler Red . I like that red.
