Desperately need advice, am open to any suggestions. We have carpet in the formal living room, hallways and bedrooms. Tile in entryway, kitchen/family room. The previous owner installed a hardwood what I call “dance floor” in the family room which matches the wood color of the built-in cabinets and fireplace mantle.
The carpet needs to be replaced and I really don’t like the dance floor effect. We have dogs. Dogs that haven’t gotten the idea that you go potty outside.
Ideally I would replace all flooring with hardwood but that would be too expensive. Second option is keeping carpet in bedrooms but replacing all the flooring in other areas with hardwood or laminate. Ideas? Pros/cons of hardwood vs. laminate? Colors?
My husband doesn’t like the dark wood but I don’t want to replace the built-ins. What floor color would be okay with the built-ins AND white kitchen cabinetry?
