As part of our kitchen renovation, we had our wood floors refinished. The flooring contractors put down polyurethane on Monday--not sure exactly what it was, but they said they put 1 coat of "quick dry" poly, followed by one coat of slow dry (I think the brand was Minwax).

The last coat looked exceptionally thick to me at the time (see the photo I took shortly after the poly was applied, from a part of the floor that actually dried relatively well). The flooring contractor (who was not personally on site on the last day) said it would be OK to walk on on Tuesday. But the floor is still tacky in many places today (Friday). It has not been super humid, but the kitchen does not have great ventilation at the moment, so the slow drying could be related to that.

Separately, and also visible in the picture, there were quite a few bubbles in their final coat of finish, and that has also affected the final appearance.

The general contractor is bringing out the flooring contractor today to take a look, and evaluate next steps. Is there anything I should be aware of in this situation? We are not experts, and want to let the general contractor lead the direction any solution to this problem takes, but we want to make sure it gets fixed correctly, and to be able to advocate for ourselves. Is this just a matter of waiting even longer, then dealing with problem spots after the fact with some light sanding and additional polyurethane, or is some more drastic approach called for?

Am I right in thinking that looks like awfully thick coat of polyurethane?
